Egg: a perfect shape, a perfect object-form. It symbolizes fertility and naivety with its cornerless, angleless, ellipsoid spherical-conical form and fragility. It offres us thousands of things to say, deep philosophies to talk about, and dozens of design ideas to get lost in. Our fingerprints, for example; they are in similar form. Or maybe I started to see everything I looked at that way. But it seems like it cannot be a coincidence that both of them are unique, becoming our source of identity.
In this very design, I wanted to put the “unique life” inside the egg while incubating it in the protective warmth of the natural browns. If you ask what the symbols on the edges are; They are the little burrs, obstacles, crossroads, good and bad memories that await life. Maybe we are waiting for a secret sunrise…

The egg is an object-form defining a time before the beginning. It is the place where the subject is formed and prepared for life. It is not for nothing that the Egg is called the “perfect shape”, with its form that wraps an embryo in the most rational way, that can exit the body in the most efficient way, that returns to its starting point even if it rolls, and that is solid enough to be the beginning of life. It symbolizes fertility and naivety with its cornerless, angleless and fragile form. 

My design, enclosing the warmest sun, became an evil eye guarding for true hope. If you ask what the symbols on the edges are; they are the little burrs, obstacles, crossroads, good and bad memories that await life.

Hope is bursting out of the loom this time. The sun figure which I frequently use in my designs gets the form of an egg. The warmest oranges, sugar pinks highlights this new story of reincarnation. Coming from the darkest infinity wells, joy will pop out of the frame. Just like a pinata, life will break out into the room it is set.

Eye of the soul, is just like the sun. Reaching every where, no darkness left to hide around, sees as it is. Sees through the flesh understanding what good lays in ones soul.

I am the dust under the sun, yet I am the sphere of the sun
Says I stay to the dust and go on rolling towards the light of the sun
I am the mist of the morning, the wind of the night
Rustle of the woods, waves of the growling sea
The mast of the ship, the helm, the helmsman and the ship are all me
Tree of life and the parrot on its branches

Another work over eye and the sun. This time the sun has become the pupil of the eye. Startled by the positions the world has fallen. Ready to excape the orbit, has turned her back. Yet, there she is with all her charm and dignity.

A new weaving with lots of Aegean and Mediterranean wibes.

Another interpretation of the sun disc. All shades of blue, the sun, the eye, life, hope, lots of caressing; yes, this is Anatolia.
