Mixed natural fibers and local cloth from the Denizli region are used. Denizli is famous with its roosters.

The weaving will be delivered either stretched over wooden carcase or will be mounted on a rustic wooden rod.

Colors of the magnificent earth get together with the natural fibers.

Shahmaran is a mythical creature in Iran, Anatolia and Iraq. Shah is the title given  primarily for the leader of the Iranians and their land and “Mar-an” means snakes. Shahmaran is known as the queen of the serpents. Shahmaran female figure, whose upper body is human and lower part is snake, is freed from her details and the focus is directed to the enchanting eyes in this weaving.

Weaved with jute and cotton fibers, this wall hanging tapestry balances the strong hue of red and violet with natural smoothness of jute.

This tapestry is from sixty seventy shooed to eternity * collection. The collection carries evil eye themes where they are redesigned together with traditional kilim patterns. While all shades of blue represent Aegean wibes, the repeating eye motif assures the strength of the prayer.

Each knot of the cotton and wool fibers with differing thicknesses used in this weaving, is planned to contribute for the shadows, reflections and depth planned with the design. May it bring peace to the owner.

Tapestry from Aegean to Mediterranean collection. The collection interprets the region with all its sentiment and joy. Sea with all its shades and creatures, İznik tiles, Aegean and Mediterranean cultures are my major inspirational resources.

The galleon figure is widely used in İznik tiles symbolizing the Ottoman navy. Dragons, clouds and seagulls escort the figure. Blue has always been the main color. Surprising for all, all the ships are situated as going west. Three dimensional effect given to the mast by embossing wrap over the base weaving.

This tapestry carries figure of hand of Fatima to the walls along with the astonishing deep blue colors of Mediterranean sea. The figure of evil eye placed on the palm presents the warm caressing feeling of a prayer.

These weavings which I unite traditional patterns with astonishing knots add the environment they are placed deepness, warmth, richness.

This tapestry is from ‘sixty seventy shoed to eternity*’ collection. The collection carries evil eye theme which is interpreted together with traditional kilim patterns.

The muska/amulet design which is commonly used in Anatolian kilims is enlarged with a little bit playing around to be the woven evil eye on the wall. Triangular amulets often represented in Bergama rugs (16th/17th century) supposed to have magical powers. The triangular amulet pattern is united with evil eye design; purified from its excess details, reinterpreted and carried to a huge size wall tapestry.

I am designing over the residues left in me as I dive into deep water, walk into the marketplace or digest all the incredible archeology, architectural diversity and Anatolian traditional patterns of my home country.
